Martin Winter  
Mr Martin Winter studied Jurisprudence in Bonn and in Freiburg. He completed his traineeship in Berlin.

In the year 1988 he received his licence to practice law and set up his law office in Berlin.

In 1992, together with Ms Barbara Winter, he set up the Partnership of Lawyers Winter & Partner GbR.

Mr Winter was admitted to the Berlin Court of Appeal in 1992 and authorised to appear before all Higher Regional Courts and Regional Courts in Germany.

In addition to his office as a lawyer, Mr Winter has practiced as a notary public since 1996.

From the very beginning of his legal career, Mr Winter has specialised in the area of building and real estate law as well as in commercial law.

The main focus of his legal work lies in consulting in construction projects, in conducting trials in the area of construction before state courts and private arbitration courts. His activities also cover other areas of commercial law, especially those which involve construction companies, architects and building developers. Mr Winter also works as an arbitrator/umpire in disputes concerning building law. He is one of the few lawyers in Germany who took part, years ago, in the pilot seminar of the German Law Association for training mediators for private building law. He is the first lawyer in Berlin to have applied for the certification as a specialist lawyer for building and architectural law and at the beginning of 2005, the German Chamber of Lawyers appointed him a specialist lawyer.

Mr Winter is a speaker in seminars on building law both in Germany and abroad. He is listed in the arbitrators' directory of the Working Group for Construction Law.

Furthermore, he is a member of the Working Committee for Building Law, the German Lawyers Association, the UIA and of an examination committee of the Berlin Chamber of Lawyers.
